The Orange County Zoning Administrator reviews and makes determinations on minor discretionary permits.
Members
The Zoning Administrator is a Planning Manager or Senior Planner who has been duly sworn to
perform the duties.
Rules and Procedures
The Zoning Administrator is governed by the Orange County Zoning Code. The Zoning Administrator is a senior
planner or planning manager involved with land use development. The Zoning Administrator acts on coastal
development permits, variance permits, and those use permits specified by the Zoning Code for Zoning Administrator
action. Such development permits are generally regarded as minor. (Development permits generally regarded
as major are acted upon, by the Planning Commission.) All actions by the Zoning Administrator can be appealed to
the Planning Commission. If not appealed, the Zoning Administrator's action is final.
Schedule of Meetings
The Zoning Administrator conducts hearings on Thursday (unless a holiday) at 2:00 p.m. in Room B-10 at
300 N. Flower Street, Santa Ana.
Public Hearing Notices
Contains the Public Hearing Notices about projects to be heard by the Zoning Administrator on a specific date. This
includes current and past hearing notices. All meetings of the Zoning Administrator are noticed and open to the public.
The public may testify before the Zoning Administrator on any agenda item.
Hearing Information
Contains the Current and Past Agendas, Staff Reports and Approved Minutes for projects to be heard by the Zoning
Administrator on a specific date. The public may testify before the Zoning Administrator on any agenda item. Staff
reports on agenda items are available to the public.
